Part-Time Educator Position - Do you love working with children and have a passion for the environment?

KGMB is seeking a qualified individual to join its education team to help reach over 4,500 students in the Greater Milwaukee area. Ability to present engaging lessons, have a positive attitude, and enjoy working with a wide variety of children and adults is required.

 The educator position is expected to

  • prepare for programming by becoming familiar with the audience as well as the lesson materials and resources
  • possess content knowledge around program topics including recycling, composting, energy and water conservation, and urban trees and gardens
  • present engaging, clear, and responsive programs
  • maintain accurate records pertaining to programming
  • clearly communicate before and after programs with the participants
  • collaborate with other KGMB staff and partners to provide and develop programming
  • participate and help plan various community education events as necessary
  • able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. The position may require working outdoors in all weather conditions, and at times on steep and rough terrain.

The position is part time and hours are dependent on current programming needs, typically 20 ‐ 30 hours a week. This opportunity has increased hours during summer months due to KGMB’s summer camps. Hours can range from 20-40 hour weeks during June-July. Some evening and weekend hours occasionally. A passion for environmental topics and experience working with children preferred. Pay commensurate with experience.

Summer Camp Educator Position

The Summer Camp Educator position is expected to

  • prepare for programming by becoming familiar with the audience as well as the lesson materials and resources
  • possess content knowledge around program topics including recycling, composting, energy and water conservation, and urban trees and gardens
  • present engaging, clear, and responsive programs for elementary aged children
  • maintain accurate records pertaining to programming
  • clearly communicate before and after programs with the participants
  • collaborate with other KGMB staff and partners to provide and develop programming
  • able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. The position may require working outdoors in all weather conditions, and at times on steep and rough terrain.

 The position is part time and hours are dependent on current programming needs, typically 20 hours, with a maximum of 40 hours a week, spanning June and July. A passion for environmental topics and experience working with children preferred, but not required. Pay commensurate with experience. The Summer Camp Educator position is great for Elementary Education Students or future environmental educators that want experience in an education field!
