Waste

• Conduct a waste audit of your classroom, school, etc.  Create a plan for reducing waste and increasing recycling. (Green & Healthy Schools Program)
• Have a collection contest for tennis shoes, cell phones, batteries or ink cartridges. (Drop off at KGMB Office)
• Set up a recycling program for special items like markers and juice pouches and make money for your school. (Terra Cycle)
• Create awareness posters or PA annoucements to promote recycling in your school
• Do a litter cleanup around the neighborhood of your school or a local park (Organize a Cleanup)

Water

• Do a water audit of your classroom or school, etc. Creat a plan for reducing waste (EPA Kids Club)
• Have students keep track of their water use for a day, week, or longer
• Create awareness posters or PA announcements to promote water conservation
• Have a contest to design a Rain Barrel and have the winner paint their art on the barrel (Buy a Rain Barrel)
• Do a river or beach cleanup near your school (Organize a Cleanup)

Trees

• Do an audit of the trees around your school or in a local park, learn to identify species (Arbor Day Foundation)
• Visit neighbors and distribute Emeraled Ash Borer flyers to raise awareness (WhatBugsMe.org)
• Plant a tree and care for it by watering, etc (KGMB's Borrow-A-Tool Program)

Energy

• Do an energy audit of your classroom or school (Green & Healthy Schools Program)
• Have students develop posters or PA announcements to promote energy conservation (U.S. EIA)
